Black Noise

Empowering Voices, Shattering Stereotypes:

Black Noise is dedicated to amplifying the diverse stories, experiences, and perspectives of the Black ​community through the power of spoken word.

With tackling subjects such as social justice and mental health. He has created a platform in the DFW area ​known as Black Noise Open Mic, since February 2020, that still continues to run today in the online community. ​The Open mic that challenges societal norms, celebrates Black culture, and sparks meaningful dialogue, while ​inspiring change and fostering unity. Through the rhythmic fusion of words and the raw intensity of his ​performances, his aim is to break through the noise, redefine boundaries, and give voice to the powerful ​narratives that have long been silenced. Black noise made a name for himself by performing all over the DFW ​area. With the privilege of performing at The Historical Dock Bookshop in Fort Worth Texas and The Academy of ​Black Arts & Letters in Dallas. Black Noise has also been featured at The New Mexico Poetry Summit 2023. ​Poetry is the catalyst to do greater works in the community through Black Noise Youth Initiative. Which was ​founded by Black Noise himself. Doing the work to help children in the Milwaukee Public Schools understand ​the importance of emotional and social learning.

The work doesn't stop there. Black Noise has teamed up to create Silance on Fire, a workshop to help foster ​the growth of other poet's pens.

Black Noise journey is a poetic liberation and transformation.

Poetry is his REVOLUTION.

Shockie G

Spoken Word Poet, known for captivating performances and powerful ​​words. As the 2022 and 2023 Grand Slam Champion in Pittsburgh PA, ​she has ​proven her skill by winning multiple Slam competitions. Her ​work has been ​featured in various publications, including Read or ​Green's "Out Loud" ​LGBTQ Anthology and “American Graveyard” anti-​gun violence anthology, ​Nymeria Publishing's "Descendants of Medusa" ​Anthology, and her own ​self-published chapbook "Shattered Emotions ​Scattered Thoughts". ​Shockie G recently released a full collection of her ​work “In Lieu of ​Flowers”, a must-read for poetry lovers. You can catch ​her performing at ​events that allow her to connect with communities ​and share her passion ​for spoken word.

Angel Kim

Finally stepping out of the shadows Angel Kim’s a Poet, ​Storyteller, Voice Actress, Mentor, and Small Business Owner. ​She’s also the Curator for the Clubhouse space Love & Lyrics ​where’s she’s featured many poets providing a space for poets and ​other artist to come share their talents, stories, and hearts. Born ​in Seoul Korea, she’s Texas raised and realized at an early age she ​loved writing stories. She’s been writing since, yet her journey in ​poetry only started in 2020 around COVID. She’s called the heart ​whisper due to her ability to pull at your heartstrings. Finally ​finding her voice, her goal is to empower, uplift, and inspire others ​to tell their stories by telling hers.
